2010 ICT Conference

The theme for the 2010 ICT Conference was "ICT Trends: Progress towards an Information Society". The words "Information Society" in the theme do highlight the envisaged information-led changes that the business community, academia, the public and private sectors can leverage on to realize the Kenya Government's Vision 2030. During the first day of the conference, the academics and other researchers  showcase their research findings to peers while by tradition, the second day of Conference is usually a forum for the invited speakers' and industrial experts to highlight and candidly discuss their varied experiences. Posters by young researchers are usually on display throughout the period of the Conference to showcase the research work and/or ICT Projects that are innovative enough and have potential for market implementation or incubation ready business ideas. The posters are usually grouped into specific sub-themes of the ICT Conference.
Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Bridging the Digital Divide: Ensuring equal access to all;
  • E-Government: What are the latest Developments?
  • ICT Infrastructure and Development: Present and Future;
  • Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems;
  • Business Processes Outsourcing (BPO) and Social Contexts – Reaching beyond the Enterprise;
  • Social Networks - Impact on the Society (Workplace, Youth, Media etc)
  • Data Engineering Issues in E-Commerce and Services Sector;
  • Collaborative Electronic Communication and the Public Sector;
  • ICT Regulations: Are they conducive for an Information Society?
  • Intercultural dimension of ICT innovations in Educations;
  • ICT Innovations and Business Incubation: An Entrepreneurial Spirit.
