The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation is an internationally respected professional designation conferred by the CFA Institute.
Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya; is a tuition provider for the CFA program in east Africa region.
The CFA Program is a postgraduate course. The readings assigned in the study program and the questions on the CFA examinations are geared for individuals who are prepared to deal with masters’ level course work.
No exemptions are awarded while taking this course.
- Have a bachelors (or equivalent) degree.
- Or be in the final year of your bachelor’s degree program at the time of registration (you have to be sure you will have gotten the degree certificate by the time of exam registration with the examiner).
- Or have four years of qualified, professional work experience.
- Or have a combination of work and college experience that totals at least four years (Note: Summer, part-time and internship positions do not qualify).
Applications and interviews
In order to enrol in the tuition program one must attend an oral interview at Strathmore University (these are given every Tuesday and Thursday mornings). One needs to come with KES 1000 interview fee, 3 passport photos, copies and originals of: academic certificates, school leaving certificate and National ID/Passport/Birth certificate and your degree certificate.
The deadline for applications into the July 2016 intake is on 21st July 2016.
The CFA program here runs from July to May the following year in preparation for the June exam sitting. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays (evenings: 5.30pm – 8:30pm) and Saturdays (morning: 8.30am – 1.00pm).
The University provides transport to and from town for students.
CFA Block revision classes (if not enroled to the tuition classes)
The block revision classes for Level I and II run from March to April each year.
