Prof. John Odhiambo exchanged views with Mr. Adan Mohamed, CEO of Barclays Bank Kenya, on how Universities can remain relevant for industry and meet the challenges of the 21st century. This happened at the fourth exhibition by Kenyan Universities organized in Kenyatta International Conference Centre on 16th March 2006. Prof. Odhiambo explained how Universities play a crucial role in society as producers and transmitters of knowledge. In recent years, he said, the discussion whether academia can encompass a third mission of enterprise development, in addition to research and teaching, has received greater attention.
