Corporate Outreach - Teleki Boys Club
Teleki
Members of Teleki and some tutors at the Animal orphanage

Teleki is a not-for-profit boys club, started early this year. It aims at developing capabilities of young boys at Madaraka estate and its environs. The club organizes various activities that help boys develop virtues. The club's hallmark is to foster the virtue of working well and hard. Teleki collaborates with Strathmore University's Community Outreach Program in its activities.

The club targets boys of primary and secondary school age, who, if left to their own devices could be influenced by bad company and end up destroying their future, a situation unfortunately too common today. Teleki helps the boys learn how to use time well and value the importance of hard work and the need to pursue education. It is open to all, without distinction of race, social background, ethnicity or religion.

Activities

The club offers activities that take into consideration a holistic development of boys. These activities include physical and character formation. Study is especially emphasized and the club offers a suitable environment for study. Other activities at the club include sports like basketball and soccer, excursions, hikes, camping.

There is also character formation, which includes talks on personality enhancement. The boys also get assigned to a tutor, who through personal conversation helps them to put all that they learn at the club into practice. The spiritual formation of Teleki is entrusted to Opus Dei, a Prelature of the Catholic Church.
