| SU Hockey Teams Lift Trophies in Tourney |
The men and ladies hockey teams took part in the annual Green Sharks Tournament that was held at Nairobi Club on 28th and 29th July 2007. Strathmore was represented by two men's teams (Strathmore "A" and Strathmore "B") and one ladies team. The tournament saw experienced teams featuring in the Premier League like Kenya Police team, Wazalendo and hosts Green Sharks among others for the men's teams. In the ladies category experienced teams like Sliders, Nairobi Club, and Vikings took part.
Strathmore "A" started off well by seeing off a hard fighting Green Sharks "A" 2-0, the team drew one all against USIU in the second game, in the third game SU drew one all against Kenya Police before beating Nairobi Club 3 -1 in their in last group game to top the pool. Strathmore "B" started by beating Green Sharks "B" 2-0, drawing the next games against Police "B", and USIU to qualify for the semifinals where they lost 1-0 to Green Sharks "A". Strathmore "A" qualified to the semi finals where they humbled Kenya Police 3-1 in a game that was decided through penalty flicks. In the finals Strathmore emerged victorious by beating Wazalendo 3-1 to lift the trophy. Strathmore ladies opened the tournament in the first game against Sliders in a game that ended in a goalless draw. In the second game Strathmore ladies played against Vikings in a game that also ended in a nil all draw. In the semi finals, SU beat USIU 2-0 to make it to the finals.
