After years of preparation, the University's Student Council is now only days away. The official campaign period starts on 24th November and runs through to 3rd December paving way for the elections on Friday, 5th December.
The Council will consist of nine members: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Public Relations Representative, two Sports Representatives, Finance Representative and two Academic Representatives. The Council will represent the students of Strathmore both within and outside the university.
Candidates' campaign posters have been posted on the official student council notice board and the intranet. Candidates will engage each other in debates over a period of two weeks before the Electoral College. The debates will be held in the University auditorium and will be open to all. Manifestos of candidates are available in the e-learning site.
Election period timeline
24th and 25th November: 4.15pm to 6.15pm. Candidates introduce themselves to the Electoral College and respond to a few questions from the College.
26th November to 3rd December: 4.15pm to 6.15pm. Candidates engage in campaign debates in the auditorium.
4th December 2008 – Rest day
5th December 2008 – Election day
