Student Athlete Isaac Okello Qualifies for World Universities Games

Strathmore University athlete, Isaac Okello qualified for the World Universities games after finishing 3rd position in the 400m and posting a time of 48.03 seconds. The qualifying time was 49.01 seconds. The event attracted 20 competitors.

The above meet was held on 17 June 2017 at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret .The event had Universities from all parts of Kenya taking part in order to select the main team that will represent Kenya Varsities team for World Universities games in Taipei, China in August 2017. The following Athletes took part in the following races

100m/200m

Jamie Otieno , a law student finished 5th position in 100m clocking 11.32 seconds while Christopher Otega was timed 11.93 seconds and finished 6th.  The qualifying mark was 10.07 seconds in the 100m, which had stiff competition from 18 others athletes.

Frank Raudo missed the cut by a whisker after clocking 22.19 seconds in the 200m and finished 5th position timed 22.19 while Otega clocked 23.11 seconds in the 200m out of 16 competitors and missing the mark by 2 seconds. The qualifying time was 21.05 seconds.
