Dr Margaret Kobia, who has been a Senior Lecturer at the School of Administration and Management at Strathmore University, has been appointed Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA), a state corporation under the Office of the President. She got the appointment through a competitive selection process.

Dr Kobia has been a lecturer in Management, Entrepreneurship and Research Methods. Besides her teaching responsibilities, she presented numerous research papers at regional and international conferences. With four other Faculty members, she was part of a team writing case studies for teaching purposes. That project had won donor support from the Ministry of Trade and the International Financial Corporation. She will remain affiliated to SU as a researcher and an adjunct lecturer.
