| Joshua Gathumbi of Strathmore Leos runs after the ball forcing Nondies players to fall on defense |
Strathmore University lads white washed Nondescript II 36–3 in the second round of the Eric Shirley Shield to qualify semi finals. In the first round that was played at Nairobi School which serves as the home ground for Strathmore the team had a lean margin of 8–0. This poised pressure on the boys better known as "Leos" since they were meeting Nondies away. Nondies chose to play at St Mary's School in Lavington.
The game started off well with Strathmore dictating the pace of the game but the home team was tight on defense that saw SU lads only touch down once and convert two penalties to take a lead of 13–3. Joshua Gathumbi was on the spot for Strathmore. The second half saw the coach Mitch Ocholla make some tactical changes that bore fruits with two quick trials in succession in the early part of the by Michael Mugo and Felix Osiemo.
The Strathmore defense that has been peeped to be the best in the league did not concede any try and this saw the game end with Strathmore taking the game home 36–3. The win meant that Strathmore will meet KCB in the game one of the first semi finals on 30th June 2007 at 3.00pm. The game will be staged at Nairobi School.
