Strathmore Leos Cement Lead in League
Rugby
Strathmore Leos (in blue) go for a line out in a previous match

Strathmore University rugby team "Leos" resumed their title quest in the Eric Shirley Shield (ESS) league by beating Daystar University 25–0. Hastins Nyariki scored two tries, while Cyril Etiang and Michael Mugo touched down once each. Ian Mwangi converted one penalty and made a conversion.

The team which had taken a break during the Bamburi Super Series ensured that Daystar did not cross its line despite playing away. The team displayed maturity and depth in the game despite missing two of their dependable players - Teddy Salano and Phillip Moturi - who have traveled with the National 7s (Tangiers) to Morocco. Strathmore "Leos" are the leaders in the ESS pool A after winning all their matches in the pool.
