  Strathmore Win KRFU U-21 Circuit

Strathmore University upstaged regulars to clinch the first tournament of the Kenya Rugby Football Union (KRFU) under-21 circuit that kicked off at the Kenya Commercial Bank Sports Club, Ruaraka on May 7.

The varsity side which is also blazing the trail in the Eric Shirley Shield League defeated last year's winners and hosts KCB 19-5 in the final of this six-team tournament. Strathmore collected 33 points for their efforts.

Strathmore was drawn in Pool B alongside Impala and Moi Air Base (MAB). Pool A had Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Mwamba RFC and Kenya Harlequins (Quins).

The university team topped its pool after convincing wins against its opponents; Strathmore 19 MAB 0 & Impala 0 Strathmore 19. In the semi-final of the main cup, Mwamba and Strathmore tied 5-5 at regulation time before Dennis Lukalo kicked over a drop goal for a final score of 8-5 in favour of Strathmore University. The other semi-final was won by KCB who beat Impala 10-0. In the final match, Strathmore met KCB in a very exciting match in which Strathmore proved the best wining 19-5.
