Debutants Strathmore University rugby team on Saturday 4th March suprised the participants in the Kenya Rugby Football Union Chairman's Cup by beating Kenya Harlequin FC 34-10 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

This was a curtain raiser for the friendly between Kenya and a South African Super 14 Franchise side, Southern Spears. Luke Siboe scored two tries while Felix Osiemo and player coach Mitch Ocholla crossed the line once each. Paul Gache stroked over two penalties and three conversion and Alfred Kanana kicked over one.

Quins replied with a try each by Jared Owino and Mark Karanja.
