The university's Drama Society (Dramsoc) will be staging
Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekov at the Alliance Francaise auditorium as from Friday 29th August through to Sunday 31st August 2008.
The play originally written in Russian is about a once rich family that squandered its wealth and is now struggling to keep up with its gone high class life and at the same time a life of vice is slowly creeping into the family. Will Sonya the voice of reason in the family keep it a float?
The play sponsored by Cube Movers and Magnate Ventures is directed by Nick Muthama. Cosmas Kamuyu of Cube Movers said that his company was very happy to sponsor the play since this way it helps to nurture drama talent that in most cases stagnates after high school.
