The Student Mentoring Services Department held a parents seminar on 9th June 2007. The topic of the seminar was: 'Marriage as the foundation of the family - communication in the family'.

The guest speaker was Mr Charles Abuodha. The seminar targeted parents with students in Diploma Business Information Technology (DipBIT) 1 & 2. More than 50 parents were in attendance. The half-day event was one of a series organized by the department and was an eye opener for many of the parents.

During the group presentations, one of the groups observed that among other things, it is important for parents to attend such events as they help them (parents) understand themselves better. The next parents' seminar will be held on 25th August 2007.
