  Strathmore University Unveils Three More Graduate Programmes

Strathmore University has unveiled another three more Graduate programmes which will commence this November 2006 and January 2007.  Each program is structured to meet the current demands of the employment market. Two of these programmess are offered in the university and one, taught by the Strathmore Business School. The three courses are:

Master of Science in Computer Based Information Systems (MScCIS)

The Master of Science in Computer-Based Information Systems (MSc.CIS) programme prepares candidates to become specialists in the Information Technology (IT) needs of modern businesses, especially at the middle and senior levels of organisations. It is designed to meet the increasing demand in the work place for IT professionals with a wide range of technical skills and the capacity to offer support in the implementation of IT-based solutions in a business environment.

The course is a conversion course structured to focus on issues surrounding the development, implementation and management of Information Systems. Courses focusing on applied computer skills are emphasised to address the needs of candidates from various backgrounds who wish to build a career in the Information Technology field. Alternatively, it would allow candidates to continue in the exercise of their previous professional or academic fields enhancing their competitiveness by applying the latest IT developments to their work.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational Management (PGDEM)

The Postgraduate Diploma is well focused on the development of the person, leading to the skills needed for running schools and turning them into attractive learning environments. It aims to give those already experienced in the field grounding in educational leadership and management skills and to empower them to meet the challenges of change in education; to prepare participants for positions of educational leadership and management; and to give the Kenyan teacher the requisite human training to make them effective contributors to the moral fibre of the nation.

Master in Business Administration (MBA)

The MBA is designed for experienced managers who wish to broaden their knowledge and expertise without interrupting their careers. The emphasis is on applying new tools and ideas directly to the workplace assures that both the participants and their companies immediately benefit from a world-class MBA.
