Miss Maureen Olembo |
Miss Maureen Olembo, a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology attended the annual South African Institute of Computer Scientists and Information Technologists (SAICSIT) conference held in South Africa between 6th and 8th October.
At the conference, Miss Olembo presented a paper titled 'Voter Verifiable M-voting'. The paper is on-going research on electronic voting using mobile phones that will allow voters to verify that their votes have been captured by the electoral authority.
The aim of the research is to offer an alternative and convenient means of voting that can be implemented in both public and private voting scenarios. The conference was organized by the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
