Limmat Stiftung, a foundation based in Switzerland awarded Strathmore University a grant of €150,000 (KShs 13,000,000) to enhance the quality of its library collection. The university used this grant to purchase books and other materials of the newly established Strathmore Business School (SBS) and the Faculty of Hospitality Management (FHM).
The first disbursement of the grant (€75,000) was made in February 2006 for the commencement of the project while the second disbursement (€75,000) was sent in October 2006. The project aimed to buy about 4000 books at an average price of €48 per book.
The Centre for What Works, an outfit that helps not-for-profits articulate successes, measure programmatic performance, and improve toward their mission and desired outcomes says Limmat Stiftung invests in human capital and helps donors realize their common-benefit projects around the world. |
