Strathmore University rugby team, Leos, mauled Mombasa II 51- 0 to extend their lead in the pool A of Eric Shirley Shield (ESS) rugby league. The game was played at Mombasa Sports Club on 31st March 07.

Leos took control of the game from start to finish.
They attacked the Mombasa II try line relentlessly.
Their efforts were rewarded and by half time the scores stood at 29-0. In the second half, Leos squeezed the hosts in their own half and extended the score line to
51 – 0 at the final whistle.

Leos try scorers were Luke Siboe and Edgar Osege who touched down twice and Felix Osiemo, Hastings Nyariki, Kariuki Njoroge and Seth Machuki who touched down once each. Ian Mwangi made three conversions and was sure with the boot for a penalty. The win cemented Strathmore's position at the top of Pool A with a maximum 17 points out of 4 games.
