Strathmore University "Leos" qualified for the Eric Shirley Shield rugby tournament finals. Leos will play against Harlequins II at the KRFUEA grounds on Saturday 14th July 07 at 3.00pm. The winner will be promoted to Kenya Cup, the highest league in Kenya rugby.

Leos sailed to the finals on an aggregate score of 32-18. They won the first leg of the semi-finals 19-3 against KCB II but lost the second leg 17-13 in a match played at Ruaraka Sports Grounds last weekend.

Leos settled into the game early and went ahead in the fifth minute through Joshua 'Rojo' Gathumbi who converted a penalty. Teddy Salano crossed the line moments later after a good place kick by Peter Njoroge. Edgar Osege gave a good tackle and Teddy pounced on the ball to score center post.

KCB replied with a penalty. Half time scores were 10-3. Second half saw KCB take the game to Leos and scored two tries from their forward play. Joshua Gathumbi was sure with one converted penalty. The game ended 17 – 13 in favor of KCB.
