Heart of Gold

Colonel Harry Clark is a tough, experienced, outspoken man with a heart of gold. He served in the British Army for many years, including stints in the Far East, where he made many friends. Some  of those friendships endure up to today.

When Harry retired from the British Army, he decided to return to Kenya where he was born. He tried his hand at running a school, but he soon discovered that was not as easy as it sounds. But he still had a passion to help young people. Thus he started the Langalanga Scholarship Fund, which helps bright and needy students from around Gilgil in Nakuru to get an education. He also started the Kariandusi Schoool Trust that helps build schools in Kenya.

Colonel Clark, together with his wife Alison, and friends Hugh Dayton and Mike Gaffney came to Strathmore on Thursday, 28th August to visit some of the students they are sponsoring. About 11 students in Strathmore are benefitting from the Langa Langa Scholarship Fund at present. The students are all doing CPA.  In total the Colonel's initiatives are sponsoring 105 students in Kenya in several secondary schools, universities and colleges.

More information on the Colonel's initiatives can be found here: www.langalanga.org.uk and www.kariandusi.co.uk
