Strathmore University teams took part in the Daystar University annual sports tournament that was held on 17th and 18th November 2007 and scooped all the top trophies in the sports they participated in.

In men's basketball, SU "Blades" started off well by beating Kenya Methodist University 17-16 before dismissing hosts Daystar 26-24. They later beat Mombombo 16-15 to qualify for the semifinals.

Blades defeated Daystar alumni 24-22 in the semis. In the finals, SU beat Daystar 27-25 to clinch the title. Kelvin Waweru of Strathmore was voted the tournament's MVP (Most Valuable Player).

The ladies basketball was played on a round robin basis. SU ladies, the "Swords" started by dismissing KEMU 36-4, they then beat Daystar 28-6, and Africa Nazarene 25-8 to win the tournament.

Rugby too was organized on a round robin format. SU fielded two teams in a bid to defend the title they won last year. SU Leos A started by beating USIU 29-0, narrowly won 7-3 against Daystar Athi River Campus, whipped Daystar Valley Road 35-0, beat KEMU 31-0 and lost 5-0 to Leos B who were the eventual winners.

SU Leos B played USIU and won 14-0, drew with Daystar Athi River 0-0, thrashed Daystar Valley Road 26-0; saw off KEMU 19-0, before beating Leos A 5-0 to be crowned champs. Both sides were awarded with trophies and Leos B were awarded individual medals as well.

In soccer, SU boys beat USIU 3-0; and Daystar 2-0 to qualify for the semifinals where they beat KEMU 1-0. In the finals, SU met USIU for the second time in the same tournament and beat USIU 4-1 to win the title. SU teams clinched all the titles in the sports they took part in and were voted the overall winners.
