| Latest Visit of the Commission of Higher Education (CHE) |
The technical committee of the Commission of Higher Education (CHE) visited the university on Thursday, 8th February 2007. Prof Everett Standa, the Commission secretary too came.
Vice-Chancellor Prof John Odhiambo said the committee was happy with the developments the university had made in terms of physical infrastructure like classrooms, the library, the auditorium and acquisition of land since the university was granted a letter of interim authority in 2002. The committee made a number of observations, which the university is reacting to. Once through with the reactions, the university will then submit a report to the commission. When the commission receives the report from the university, it will prepare an accreditation report and advise the university when the commissioners will come for the final visit. After the final visit, the commission will make a definitive announcement on the granting of the charter. "We hope and pray the final visit will be in the first half of this year", Prof Odhiambo said. |
