Strathmore University "BLADES" are the 2005 Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) champions. After a grueling league that started in May 2005 the Blades continued to show their intentions of capturing the league title through their consistent performance despite their tight academic calendar. The team lost only 4 games in the whole season and finished second in the league behind Kenya Christian Industrial Training Institute (KCITI) to qualify for the play offs. The play-offs were played in a best of 5 games format.

The team had earlier on qualified for the National play–offs that will be staged in Kakamega on October 29, 2005. This is the second season that Strathmore is taking part in the NBA (A league for all universities and basketball clubs in Nairobi province) and we take pride for the extra ordinary performance by our boys and wish the team all the best in the National Play-offs.
Meanwhile the ladies basketball team has qualified for the semi-finals of the NBA 2005.
