  Advanced Management Program (AMP) Launched

Lynda Baroness Chalker was the guest speaker during the launch of the AMP program at Nairobi Serena Hotel. She saidAMP Launch like other African countries, Kenya lacked managerial skills. The same views were echoed by Mr Naikuni who called on the private sector to find ways of embracing civil servants. "One challenge we face in the private sector is we can't ignore the civil service that can perform," he said. Baroness Chalker and Mr Naikuni both sit on the Business School's Advisory Board.

Strathmore University's Vice Chancellor Prof John Odhiambo said the programmes was of international standards. To achieve this, he said the school had partnered with IESE Business School of Spain, which works in collaboration with Harvard Business School of United States and other Universities. The partnership with IESE involves mentoring, training and exchange of academic and professional staff. Strathmore Business School has recruited an international team of staff.

Prof Odhiambo said the programme is based on independent research and keen understanding of qualities that bring out the full potential of business Leaders

Students will be exposed to business case studies around the world. This will assist business people to know what really goes wrong in companies, Baroness Chalker said. "I am a great supporter of case-study learning and use of information technology to solve business problems," she added.
