University of Pretoria's Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) bought 73 copies of a teaching case on LawAfrica firm written by Dr Freddie Acosta of SU under the supervision of Prof. Lluis Renart of IESE Business School. GIBS ordered the case on 29th March 2007 and paid three dollars per copy for the case.
The sale is a milestone for SU since it started to promote the use of case method teaching and encouraging its lecturers to write cases for teaching. Under the International Finance Corporation (IFC) - Global Business School Network (GBSN) project, SU lecturers have been writing cases based on various Small & Medium Entreprises (SME) in the country since 2005. Under the project, Acosta has also written a case on PentaPharm. |
