2014 ICT Conference

Strathmore University’s Annual ICT Conference brings together academics, researchers, telecommunication students and information technology students from institutions of higher learning, young professionals and industry experts from public and private sector to discuss about their ongoing research and projects.

The theme this year is “Staying Ahead: Leap-Frogging the World through ICT” inspired by Kenya’s leading role as an ICT innovation hub with a worldwide reputation of capitalizing on ICT to improve business processes and empower citizens.

Strathmore University’s Annual ICT Conference brings together academics, researchers, telecommunication students and information technology students from institutions of higher learning, young professionals and industry experts from public and private sector to discuss about their ongoing research and projects.


The theme this year is “Staying Ahead: Leap-Frogging the World through ICT” inspired by Kenya’s leading role as an ICT innovation hub with a worldwide reputation of capitalizing on ICT to improve business processes and empower citizens.


During the first day of the conference, the academics and other researchers showcase their research findings to peers while by tradition, the second day of Conference is usually a forum for invited speakers and industrial experts to highlight and candidly discuss their varied experiences. Posters by young researchers are usually on display throughout the period of the Conference to showcase the research work and/or ICT Projects that are innovative enough and have potential for market implementation or incubation ready business ideas. The posters are usually grouped into specific sub-themes of the ICT Conference. This year the conference presents a breakaway PhD forum afternoon session on the first day dedicated to current and prospective PhD candidates to share their experiences and also gain valuable advice from doctoral degree holders. Masters students are welcome.
