School Statistics
The total student population is approximately 800 students. The number of students taking Computer Studies is distributed across the following classes.
| Class | No. of ITstudents |
|---|---|
| Form One | 200 |
| Form Two | 200 |
| Form Three | 12 |
| Form Four(candidate class) | 12 |
| Total IT students | 424 students |
According to Mrs Matolo, the Head Computer Studies teacher, the girls have a lot of interest in pursuing IT but are mainly hampered by lack of computing facilities. The reduced number of students taking the course in form 3 and 4 confirms this fact. According to the KCSE curriculum, Computer Studies is an elective unit competing against other group 5 subjects such as business studies, Home Science e.tc. Majority of the students opt for the Business Studies elective because of its non-technical nature.
