SGC Presents New Publication

Strathmore Governance Centre (SGC) recently presented their publication titled Governance Papers I to a small internal SU audience comprising the VC, the DVC Research and the DVC Academics, some of the Deans, PhD holders and candidates working in SU as well as some of the contributors.  The publication is a compilation of papers presented at the Governance Centre’s November 2010 Workshop on “Governance Challenges in East Africa”.
The small event took place at SGC’s new Seminar room on the third floor of the Students’ Centre on Wednesday 7th March 2011. The VC Prof. John Odhiambo welcomed the guests and commended SGC for its efforts in governance research and congratulated SGC on the publication.

PhD Thesis Presentation on Nubian Community in Kenya

Ms. Samantha Balaton-Chrimes from the University of Melbourne, Australia, a PhD candidate affiliated to the Strathmore Governance Centre for her research in Kenya presented her final thesis on Friday 27th January 2012. The session was attended by several members of staff as well as a few members of the Nubian community in Kenya including Mr. Ismail Ramadhan, leader of Nubian community and Mr.  Hassan S. Abdallah. Mr Ismail Ramadhan is an alumnus of Strathmore College.

Reference Panel Meeting on Health held at SGC

The Strathmore Governance Centre (SGC) hosted an Experts Panel meeting on September 29th 2011 at Strathmore University. As a follow up of the September 2008 workshop at the same venue on Risk Management in the domestic Supply Chain of Health Commodities, a previous Experts’ meeting was convened to discuss which recommendations of the 2008 workshop required deeper research.
