The Hills Program on Governance, founded by former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Roderick Hills, is one of the most vibrant programs at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a non-partisan think tank focused on international policy. The objective of the Hills Program is to identify serious governance problems, develop, a better understanding of the corrupting influences that create such problems, and organize efforts to reduce those influences. The Hills Program on Governance seeks to promote good governance across the private, public, and civic sectors by addressing institutional sources of corruption and promoting transparency and accountability within and among those sectors. The Program brings together Governance Centres in China, South Korea, the Philippines, Argentina and Mexico. The Centers affiliated to the Program advance good governance by conducting rigorous research and analysis and disseminating the results, facilitating sectoral and regional dialogue, and developing educational tools to improve governance.
