
Professor Lluis G Renart is licenciado en Ciencias Empresariales y master en Direccion de Empresas (ESADE-UPC, Barcelona, 1967), master of business administration (GBS, University of Chicago, 1970), and doctor en Ciencias Economicas y Empresariales- PhD. (IESE, University of Navarra, 1998).From 1970 to 1981 he held different positions in a Spanish food company, up to the level of division manager and member of the board. He then joined IESE where he is a fulltime professor in the marketing department. He teaches both executive programs and at the MBA level. From November 1994 to May 1997, he was also executive director of the alumni division.Most of his teaching and research is focused on marketing strategy, particularly on export and multinational marketing topics, with special emphasis on multinational marketing alliances. He has also done recent work on the topics of (1) sales team management, with particular emphasis on sales team compensation and the outsourcing of sales teams and (2) customer relationship management strategies. He has written or co- authored more than forty cases and related documents. Some of them have been included in some 25 leading text books published in the United States, Spain, France, United Kingdom and Croatia. He has won five prizes (1991,1995,1996,1997 and 2004) in the European case writing competition organized each year by the European foundation for management development (EFMD).In addition to IESE, he has been visiting professor at HEC + ISA (jouy-en-josas, France), Nijenrode (Holland), AESE (Lisboa), IPADE and ICAMI (Mexico), INALDE (Bogotá), IDE (Ecuador), school of economics (Zagreb, Croatia), IAE (Buenos Aires), Lagos business school (Nigeria), IEDC (Bled, Slovenia), Nile Tech (Cairo), HCMS (Moscow), and the Estonian business school. He is a member of the board of Barna consulting group, and other companies active in real estate (Rentuaro), corporate social responsibility services (alter marketing) consumer goods (Ubiola Productos de Gran Consumo, and Gruparpa), and the health products industry (smith +nephew). He has had teaching or consulting engagements with companies and organizations such as Nestle, Maersk Espana, ICEX, Patronat catala pro Europa, and many others.
