Scholarships, Rebates and Bursaries
The university Scholarship Committee administers several scholarship programmes. The eligibility and application procedures vary widely. The broad range of scholarship programmes enables the university to cater for a broad range of applicants.

European Union Scholarships
Open to final year students in secondary schools to study a professional course of choice at Strathmore University in the coming year. Two application forms are sent to each of the top 100 secondary schools in KCSE ranking. The school management is supposed to give the forms to the top two needy and yet bright students of the school. The filled in forms need to be sent back to Strathmore University by end of the month of May every year. The scholarship caters for tuition fees only up to a maximum of 90%.

East African Breweries Limited Foundation Scholarship
Started in April 2001 the scholarship caters for bright and needy students who have attained a minimum KCSE grade of A-. The scholarship scheme runs under the Skills for Life programme of EABL Foundation and is managed by Strathmore University. The scheme sponsors students in commerce and information technology undergraduate courses annually. Application forms are available in the local newspapers every April and May for the July intake.

McKinney Rogers Scholarship
The scholarship scheme is an initiative of the McKinney Rogers International a global consulting firm. It's run under the McKinney Rogers Foundation and managed by Strathmore University. It also caters for bright and needy students who have attained a minimum KCSE grade of A-. The scheme sponsors students in commerce and information technology undergraduate courses annually. Application forms are available in the local newspapers every April and May for the July intake.

I&M Bank
This is a scholarship scheme for Business Science courses, started in 2010 by I&M Bank as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. The scheme caters for bright and needy students who have attained a minimum KCSE grade of A-. Application forms are available in the local newspapers every April and May for the July intake.

Ranmal Shah Trust
In 2010 the Ranmal Shah Trust started a scholarship scheme for bright students from financially challenged backgrounds to pursue information technology undergraduate courses at Strathmore. Applicants must have attained a minimum of A- in the KCSE examinations. Application forms are available in the local newspapers every April and May for the July intake.

Strathmore University Scholarships
The university too has scholarship schemes of its own. The eligibility and application procedures vary widely. The broad range of scholarship programmes enables the university to cater for a wide range of applicants. Would be applicants are advised to check university notice boards in the months of April and May for the July intake for both undergraduate and professional courses and in the month of October for the November BBIT exempt class intake.

Mathematics Contest Scholarships
Over the years the university has supported secondary schools mathematics contests in the country. The university thus awards the best Form four boy and girl in six of the country's top mathematics contests namely; Nyeri High School Mathematics Contest, Maseno Mathematics contest, Alliance Girls Mathematics Contest, Mangu Mathematics Contes, Kabarak High School Mathematics Contest and Mary Mount Mathematics Contest. These top students are awarded a tuition fees scholarship for CPA, ACCA or Diploma in Information Technology.

Sports Scholarships
The university aims at providing its students with an all round education and in that regard the university encourages it students to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities. Since 2006 the university has been awarding Sports scholarships to top sports candidates in all sports offered at the university. Under this scheme the university has been able to attract the best sporting talent and hence managed to excel in sports both at the national and international level. Aspiring candidates must have attained at least a KCSE grade of B plain. Trials are held every year from November to March at the university.

Sports Fee Rebate
The university scholarships committee annually awards a percentage fee rebate to the top non-scholarship students in every sport. The players must have been exemplary on and off the field with an equally impressive disciplinary record.

Family Fee Rebate
This is a scheme where a student with a brother or a sister who just like them is undertaking an undergraduate degree programme in any faculty apply for a fee rebate. The fee rebate will only be given to one of the children- the one with the best academic results in the last academic year. The family needs to apply for the rebate annually until one of them completes his/her studies in SU. Application forms are available at the office of the Dean of Students.

Bursaries
Every year the university awards tuition fees bursaries to needy students in various courses. Bursaries are granted as and when funds are available. Over the years we have received generous donations from donors like Rattansi Educational Trust, Rahimtullah Trust, Mzima Co-operative society and amongst others and also from many other donors who have requested to remain anonymous. Applicants of bursaries can drop their requests at the office of the Dean of Students.
