Bachelor of Laws​

We aim at training excellent lawyers; critical thinkers who are able to grasp a better understanding of justice. Our curriculum merges core subjects in legal theory and practice with courses on ethics andhumanities making the student an agent of change in East Africa and beyond. We are determined to achieve legal excellence in the quest for justice.

• An aggregate KCSE grade of a B, with a B in English or Swahili. An aggregate B- might exceptionally be considered.

• PWD: C+, with a B in English or Swahili.

• Persons with a B or more in Swahili will be required at least a B- in English.

• O level 6 Bs, with a B in English (not English Literature) and A level 3 Bs.

• At A level, 2 Bs and a C might exceptionally be considered.

• IB Diploma with 34 out of 45 points.

• O Level - 8 to 32 points (Division 1 or 2) with a 1 or 2 in English.

• A Level - 14 points with 3 principal passes and 2 subsidiary passes.

Equivalent entry requirements will be applied based on KNQA advice.

All candidates meeting the entry requirements are required to sit the University entrance examination in English and an oral interview. Interviews are held on Wednesdays at 8.00 a.m.

Candidates are required to bring:

original and photocopies of all relevant academic testimonials

2 passport-size photograph

KES 2,000 entrance exam fee.

LLB has only one intake in July.

Practical Learning:

Legal research centers and clinics have been established within SLS. SLS works closely with local and international law firms of high repute to place students for job placements, internships and attachments.


Visiting professors drawn from some of the most prestigious law schools in the world.


Academic Trip Abroad:

Students of the Law School get a chance to participate in an academic trip to Europe that exposes them to various international legal institutions, and other prestigious law schools and gives them a chance to interact with senior international legal practitioners e.g. judges, prosecutors, defense lawyers etc.


International language:

The SLS curriculum includes a foreign language. Students can choose tstudy any of the following foreign languages: French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Chinese.
