The Great Energy Debate: ‘The role of Women in the Energy Sector.’

The Great Energy Debate will be held at Strathmore Business School on Tuesday September 8th 2015 at 3 pm.

In the second of our series on discussions on Energy, we intend to recognize ‘The role of Women in the Energy Sector.’ Our objective is to encourage women professionals to take active interest in the sector and provide information on opportunities for women who want to own, control and develop their businesses in the energy sector. We will also look at how they can advance their careers in the sector.

We will have panellists who will discuss:

1. The issues of policy and access to finance for women in energy sector.

2. Understand the opportunities across the value chain and constraints women face in accessing green technologies and livelihoods.

3. Recognize women who have excelled in the sector and share experience and mentorship.

The First series was held on 30th July 2015 where we had senior representatives from KETRACO, Kenya Power, Kenya Pipeline, National Lands Commission and Electricity Regulation Authority discussing the topic: ‘The Rising Conflict in Land Compensation in the Energy sector.’

The Great Energy Debate is a series organized by Strathmore University in partnership with Brands and Beyond (an energy communication firm) and Naipolitans (acknowledged partners).

The 2nd Series is sponsored by The Standard Group (Media partners) and Parker Randall East Africa.
