The First Ever Student Council Re-union Dinner

On 11th August, 2016, the first ever Student Council Reunion was held at the Pride-Inn Restaurant Westland’s, this one of a kind event was as elegant, as electric and as inspiring as any mind can imagine. The black and red decoration creating a sensational mood of excitement,   exhilaration and fun. The music a backdrop of the buzz, was pure bliss! An idea developed over a cup of coffee by members of the previous student council, realized by members of the current student council in conjunction with the Alumni Relations office.

The night was kicked off with a photo shoot at a scenic fountain within the hotel, and the humming chatter of the alumni council members as they caught up after many years. The beauty of this as unimaginable, as people embraced the young night with lots of excitement and cheer.

Dinner was then served as the guests took their seats, an affectionate mood within the room as the diversity of the seating arrangement ensured constant chatter, with alumni members of the council, current members of the council and aspiring council members filling the seats. The MC’s for the night Jotham Okello and Wycliffe Guguni then took the stage and offset the night with a lot of laughter and stories from their own personal experience.

 

As the night continued, an alumni student council member John Mwangi, then hosted a beautiful tribute for the dearly departed member of the 3rd council Peter Kibe, remembering the inspirational individual who was loved by all.

The night progressed as the laughter evidently increased and comfort felt, and during this time the most outstanding student council members were awarded for their dedication and excellence during their term in the council. The awarded members were none other Atlanta Kufwafwa, from the 3rd council and Laban-cliff Onserio from the 1st council. A raffle was also conducted whereby 3 lucky winners walked away with gifts too and these 3 lucky winners were, Daniel Ocheing an aspiring member, Ronald Wekesa from the 1st council and lastly, John Mwangi from the 3rd council.

The night was closed with the celebration of the birthday of one of the alumni council members whose gratitude was felt by all who were present, Jamal Mohamed. Beyond that, the closing of the official program was done in style with song and dance. The cheer of the night shall be held as one which is precious, special and dear by all student council members.
