Pioneer Farewell Dinner
On Wednesday, The 22nd of June 2016 Strathmore Law School bid farewell to the Pioneer class of 2016 over dinner at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club. The dinner served both as a chance for the students to deepen the bonds they had made with each other and with their lecturers and for the invited guests and lecturers to impart wisdom to their young charges to guide them through the professional journey.
The student MC’s of the night, Robert Muigai and Vision Sifuma kept the guests entertained with hilarious anecdotes on the law school experiences including one particularly amusing explanation for late arrival to class. Douglas Gchuki expressed his pride at the growth that the class had gone through in the four years that they had spent in SLS and urged them to use that growth to help society. Lawyer Charles Kanjama, who also taught the pioneer class enunciated the need for professionalism, fortitude and competence as key ingredients to true success. The Dean of the law school Dr Luis Franceschi urged the graduating class to love the law but to also remember their duties to family and the importance of fostering good relationships.
The esteemed professor Yash Pal Ghai marveled at how well rounded the individuals he was speaking to had become. While pointing out the immense musical talents from Kena Muigai, Samuel Kisuu, James Kubasu, Winne Songok and Louisa Mutero he admitted to wondering when they had had the time to study law and excel at it and maintain a balance with their extra-curricular activities. He released them into the world by advising them to always use their conscience and good judgement and to stay true to their beliefs.
The pioneer class of 2016 will be missed, but SLS is proud to release them into the world and is fully confident that they will fly the Strathmore University flag high.
Congratulations Class of 2016.
