RIP: Alumnus John Kiarie Mugo


We are sad to announce the death of Mr. John Kiarie Mugo, Alumnus and former lecturer in the School of Accountancy. He also worked in Finance Department.

Mr Kiarie studied CPA at Strathmore between 1987 and 1990. He had over 12 years’ experience in management consultancy and his areas of expertise include development of corporate strategies, grant management, financial and management training and business process reviews in both the private and public sectors. He was a qualified accountant and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

John Kiarie Mugo’s funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, 13th August 2015 at Consolata Shrine, Westlands, off Chiromo Road.

Mass is scheduled to begin at 0930 hours, followed by burial at Langata cemetery.

Please continue to pray especially for John’s widow and young family.

*John was a Prize winner in Management and Organisation and Cost Accounting.




  1. John my dear friend and colleague from Strath (“Reso”), we lived together in the strath reso and shared a lot of joy together. I remember those nights we would sit in one room during “GTs” get together after dinner…..Those execursions we undertook together, the list is endless……..We were supposed to have linked up on your visit to Zambia but could not……….I can only say FARE THEE WELL TILL WE MEET AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE………!   2. I owe my career to John. He was my friend, my mentor, my boss, my inspiration. I do not know how to live in a world where my friend is gone. Rest well John. Thank you for everything. I am forever grateful.

  3. Wow… I remember John well too – he taught me basic accounting when Strath started up and we met often at Reso and at the college. Travel well old friend
