Our Vision
The Teaching & Learning Committee dedicates itself to transforming SU’s academic departments into centres of excellence in research–led teaching through innovative teaching approaches.
The academic departments will be centers of excellence as follows;
- Faculty of Commerce:- Teaching Methods e.g. simulation
- Faculty of Information Technology:- Information Technologies
- School of Tourism and Hospitality:- Creativity and Innovativeness
- Institute of Humanities and Educational Development Studies:- Scholarly Practice (Action Research)
- School of Accountancy:- Formative Feedback and Assessment
- School of Finance and Applied Economics & Center of Applied Research and Mathematics:- Research led Teaching
- Institute of Continuous Education:- Entrepreneurship
Our Mission
To provide support and leadership to academic departments in meeting their Teaching and Learning objectives through efficient use of university resources
To accomplish this mission, ADU provides resources, programs and consultations to:
- Facilitate the professional and intellectual development of faculty, staff, and graduate assistants as lecturers.
- Promote and support a community of teacher-scholars where the theory and practice of teaching and learning are shared.
- Help instructors and academic units develop, implement, and assess instructional approaches and methods.
- Foster innovations in university teaching.
- Advocate appropriate use of technology in enhancing university teaching and learning.
- Help individual instructors assess their teaching effectiveness and their students’ learning.
- Sustain a university culture that recognizes and rewards scholarly teaching.
- Promote student learning as central to accomplishing the teaching/learning mission of the university.
