Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have a new member of staff about to start - what should I do about induction?
A: All academic staff need to be introduced to the University, to the faculty, and to their job. ADU organises an academic staff induction course at the beginning of each semester known as ‘Introduction to Strathmore University’. The course helps the new member of staff to understand how they fit into the university, gives important health and safety information (this is a legal requirement) and details of the university’s history, its products and services, its culture and values. An induction checklist will be provided which details many of the things a new member of staff will need to know and also act as a reminder to colleagues of what should happen and be covered.
Q: If I am a lecturer, do I have to pay to attend any of your courses?
All Strathmore University Lecturers paid through the SU payroll system can attend all sessions free of charge. However, permission need to be sort from the Faculty Dean/Manager.
Q. Who can attend courses?
A. All Strathmore University Lecturer’s (both fulltime and part-time) who are paid through the University payroll are entitled to attend courses. You must gain the agreement of your Dean/Manager before enrolling for a course.
