The Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) is the main examining body for Accountants and Company Secretaries. The Board conducts examinations at professional and technical levels in Finance, Accountancy and Administration (Secretaryship).
The Examinations of the Board are recognised worldwide and are comparable to similar professional examinations in the English-speaking countries of the world.
Three different Examinations are offered by the Board as follows:
- The Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination for those who wish to qualify and work as professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax managers and consultants.
- The Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) Examination for those who wish to qualify and work as company secretaries, consultants and managers in business, industry and commerce; and administrators and human resources advisers in public authorities.
- The Kenya Accounting Technicians Certificate Examination (KATC) for those who wish to obtain a qualification as specialised middle-level accountants, who are better known as accounting technicians.
On successful completion of examinations, the Board awards Certificates to the deserving students as well as prizes to those who come top in the various subjects nation-wide. The examinations, however, are not restricted to Kenyan citizens alone; they are also sat in other African countries such as Uganda and Tanzania.
KASNEB headquarters are located in Upper Hill (Nairobi)-just a stone's throw away from the Kenyatta Hospital.
KASNEB fees are payable to the Board for those who wish to register.
