Entrance Requirements At Strathmore, we consider applicants on the basis of their academic merit, ability and potential. For some programmes, we also consider evidence of relevant personal, professional and educational experience. Requirements for individual programmes of study vary, and you should consult the relevant School or programme entry and corresponding information in the prospectus for specific entry requirements.

Application Procedure for Graduate Programmes

  • Bring your admission requirements.
  • Submit all University admission requirements to the Admissions Office.
  • (For International applicants, these are independent of your application for student visa)
  • Pay the Application Fee at the Cashier’s Office (Ksh 1000 for Kenyan citizens; USD 15 for non-Kenyan citizens).
  • Present the Official Receipt of payment to the Graduate Admissions Office to get your testing permit.
  • Take the Graduate Entrance Test.
  • Proceed for an interview with the Dean of the Faculty.

Application Requirements

  • One copy of the fully completed application form. (113 KB) Guidelines in completing the form.
  • Original and one copy of Transcript of Records (TOR) in English giving full details of subjects studied and grades/marks obtained. College TOR for Master’s programmes.
  • English language proficiencyresults where available.
  • Two (2) completed Reference Forms (83.4 KB) from former undergraduate or graduate professors particularly qualified to attest to the applicant's qualification for graduate study.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae
  • Additional information where requested.

Testing/Interview Schedule
All graduate students applying for admission must sit a Graduate Entrance Examination at the University. The Entrance Examination consists of aptitude tests in English and Mathematics for all programmes plus proficiency in C/C++ programming for MSIT applicants. It is followed by a personal interview with the Dean of the Faculty.

The entrance exam is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Applicants can confirm the days on which should personally attend, by telephoning the Graduate Admissions Office.

On the day of the Entrance Examination applicants should report at 8:00am and bring their requirements and entrance examination fee. Contact the Graduate Admissions Office for more details about the admission process.
