The School of Administration and Management was founded in 1961 as Kianda College for the training of young school leavers in Secretarial and Administrative Studies.

In 1993, Kianda College merged with Strathmore College and moved to the current Strathmore University campus in Madaraka.

The diploma prepares candidates to work in the area of management, administration, enterprise development, marketing, consultancy, and other fields.  It is an exemption vehicle to a degree in Management.
