Bachelor of Business Information Technology (BBIT)

BackgroundComputer Lab

The Bachelor of Business Information Technology is a modern course that brings together two key aspects of computer training, that is, the link between Computer Science and the business environment.

In the past many students would have found it easier to get opportunities in the work environments with computer science training

Many businesses are getting more specific in their preferences- computer science with management skills.

In the World trends, there is every inclination for employers to prefer students who have thorough knowledge of Information Technology, but at the same time understand how business organisations are managed.

BBIT students are exposed to management, humanities, business ethics and languages, which give them a wider scope of business organisations and how they are run or should be run.

Degree Level Training

Course Outline

Since the training at degree level is aimed at imparting a wide spectrum of knowledge, we have also included courses that cover human and character formation.

BBIT has been developed after a lot of research based on our experience within the Kenyan market where our IMIS (formerly IDPM) graduands have found jobs in industry since 1991.

Strathmore was among the pioneer colleges to start ICT training for middle level management and is leading in the area of training ICT experts for the local market as well as for overseas.

BBIT prepares candidates to meet the demands in the modern business environment with wide knowledge of business management, technical skills and capacity to harness and implement IT strategies taking advantage of emerging ICT technologies.

BBIT is computer science dressed fully in business management and human formation aspects.
