Pesa Tracker is a revolutionary, award winning mobile money tracking technology that was developed by Vincent Maraba. Vincent is a masters student in the Safaricom Academy at Strathmore University.

The application was first awarded during a demo at iLabAfrica where Safaricom Academy scholars were showcasing various android applications in March, earlier this year. Pesa Tracker was number two in the demo.

In November, Vincent entered the application in the Safaricom App Star Challenge, a grand mobile application development competition by Safaricom and Vodafone. Pesa Tracker competed in the finance category where it was crowned the category winner at a colorful award ceremony at the Hilton hotel and the winner was awarded Kshs 100,000.

How Pesa Tracker works
The application helps users to keep track of their mobile money transactions like deposits and withdrawals. It also comes bundled with pay-bill numbers for M-Pesa. Furthermore it has a pay-bill guide for all companies that accept payment via pay-bill. This is a great and convenient way to pay bills to various utility companies and businesses without having to call customer care for help.

Pesa Tracker provides users with reliable statements for all their mobile money transactions even if one loses a phone. With this application one can track up to 5 years of mobile transactions all at an affordable fee of Kshs 20 per month for individuals and Ksh 1,000 for corporate clients.

Pesa Tracker is definitely a first in its category and a great innovation from the Safaricom academy.
