Terms and Conditions

1. Raffle tickets cost KShs 1,000 / USD 13 / Eur 10 each.

2. Prizes should be collected at Strathmore University, Madaraka Estate Ole Sangale Road, Nairobi Kenya.

3. No tickets can be sold to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 18 years. The names on the counterfoil shall be those on the National ID of the person purchasing. Therefore agents selling tickets will request to see the ID card of the purchaser so they can record it.

4. Funds raised by the raffle will support the SU Phase III project, a Strathmore University facility expansion project.

5. Tickets can be paid for by cheque payable to Strathmore University, credit/debit card or cash.

6. Employees of the Betting Control and Licensing Board, employees of the Advancement Office of Strathmore University’s Advancement Office, members of the Strathmore Raffle Committee and members of the Strathmore University Management Board are ineligible to participate in the . Ticket(s) bought in their names will be deemed donations and will not be entered in the draw.

7. Strathmore University accepts no responsibility for raffle tickets which are lost, damaged, and illegible or from which the prize-winner cannot be identified, or for any technical failure or event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.

8. The draw will take place on Tuesday 15th June 2011 at Strathmore University Madaraka Estate Ole Sangale Road P. O. Box 59857 00200 City Square Nairobi Kenya

9. The raffle tickets will be drawn randomly for all the different prizes. This will take the order of: the least valuable prize will be given on the first ticket drawn and the grand/most valuable prize offered for the last ticket drawn

10. The ticket number drawn to win the Scholarship to study an Undergraduate Degree at Strathmore University can be transferred by the winner to a person of his/her choice who fulfills the academic and all other requirements to study an undergraduate degree course at Strathmore University. It will be valid for enrolment in an undergraduate course commencing before 31st December 2012.

11. Each ticket number drawn will be offered the prize corresponding to it. Prizes are not exchangeable for cash and must be claimed by the person(s) whose name and ID number appears on the ticket. When claiming the prize the claimant will be required to produce the raffle ticket and to show the identification document used to purchase the ticket. Please make sure you keep your ticket safely as proof of purchase.

12. The result of the raffle draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

13. Winners will be notified by post, email or telephone no later than two weeks after the draw date. A list of winners will also be published on the Strathmore University website at www.strathmore.edu/50/raffle.html within two weeks of the draw.

14. Where Strathmore University is unable to contact a prize-winner such that a prize remains unclaimed for six months following Strathmore University’s first attempt to notify the prize-winner, Strathmore University may dispose of the prize as it sees fit, including by re-offering the prize in future raffles.

15. All winners are required to co-operate with Strathmore University and to recognize the University’s right to publish their names as winners as and where deemed appropriate, and to provide proof of age when requested.

16. Strathmore University is registered with the BCLB to operate this raffle. Our BCLB Number is 2669.

18. This raffle is externally managed on behalf of Strathmore University by the BCLB. Requests for additional raffle tickets, requests to be removed from future raffle mailings, or any concerns about this raffle should be addressed to,

19. In the event of an error, howsoever caused, whether a printing error or otherwise and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the competition in any way, the organisers reserve the right to administer the raffle as though the error had not occurred. Where the organisers deem it appropriate and/or feasible Strathmore University may notify entrants of the error.

21. Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.
