In 2011, Strathmore marks 50 years since its foundation. This historic milestone is an opportunity to celebrate excellence in Education, reminisce Strathmore’s past and inspire the future.
Our 50th Anniversary Objective
Strathmore University will utilize the 50th anniversary as a platform to celebrate excellence in education, re-energize the campaign for Strathmore – Phase III, raise pride in stakeholders in past accomplishments, present initiatives and future plans and to showcase the institution as a leader in the region to the public, students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors.
Calendar of Strathmore’s Efforts
Throughout 2011, a variety of events will be held to commemorate the 50th Anniversary. A sample of these efforts is listed below:

BCom/BBIT Alumni Reunion Luncheon
Strathmore University, Auditorium
This event will bring together all BCom and BBIT graduates. The Keynote address, ‘The making of a life story: From Paper Science to CEO’ will be delivered by Tom Omariba, CEO, MTN Business. The alumni will join together to celebrate the successes of Strathmore over the last 50 years and embrace the future. Later the BCom and BBIT alumni will engage in a competition for the Inaugural Jim McFie Cup.

Mass in honour of St. Josemaria
Holy Family Basilica.
Holy Mass will be celebrated in honour of St. Josemaria Escriva the founder of Opus Dei and the inspiration and promoter of Strathmore. The Strathmore family and the entire Opus Dei family will gather at the Holy Family Basilica to celebrate this mass.

Golden Jubilee Celebrations

This is the apex event for Strathmore’s 50th Anniversary. All students, parents, alumni, staff and faculty will join together to celebrate the successes of Strathmore over the last 50 years and embrace the future. This event will also see the inauguration of the ultra-modern Phase III Buildings (Student Centre, Management Science Building and Strathmore Business School). Read more
